Rabo Capital is spinning out of Rabobank and becomes Nordian Capital Partners

Rabo Capital, the buy-out arm of Rabobank, is spinning out of Rabobank and will continue its activities under the name of Nordian Capital Partners (“Nordian”). This transaction has been led by Rabobank and CommonWealth Investments and comprises of the current private equity portfolio of Rabo Capital (Nordian Fund I) and a new EUR 300 million private equity fund (Nordian Fund II), focusing on the Dutch mid-market. Next to Rabobank and Commonwealth Investments, PGGM Asset Management and the Nordian team will join as investors in both funds. Following this transaction, Nordian gains access to a vast network of financial institutions and entrepreneurs. It is Nordian’s ambitions to further extend its strong position in the mid-market private equity sector in the Netherlands. Its strategy will remain practically unchanged:
  • Nordian focuses on acquiring majority stakes in profitable Dutch companies, which demonstrate sustainable growth, have a proven track record and realise an operating profit of at least EUR 3 million.
  • Nordian is a generic investor, but has a strong affinity with a few sectors, including Food, Health and Services.
